OUR PROCESS
Our Process
Initially, the SLP will get to know you child through detailed assessment and set up an intervention plan based on your child’s areas of concern. We provide individualised therapy sessions which are tailored to your child’s needs and use variety of intervention approaches to help your child communicate effectively.
Assessment
Formal and informal assessment/evaluation is the steppingstone to any successful therapy. Assessment will help the SLP understand your child’s strengths and areas of concern and aids in determining their skills in comparison to their peers. It assists in formulating a tailor-made intervention plan for your child.
Assessment can either be screening or comprehensive depending on the child’s age and areas of concern. Therefore, SLP will decide a most appropriate assessment tool to be administered. Few assessments can be completed in a single session, while some can extend to multiple sessions depending on individual needs.
Therapy session
Resonance speech therapy is a mobile speech therapy clinic, which means we travel to your home or day care or school to provide speech pathology services.
Normally, the therapy session will run for 45 mins (face to face). Parents are also expected to be present throughout the session.
Report
Comprehensive report is provided for all the assessment carried out by the SLP. We also send reports to school, GP or specialist if requested.
Referrals
We do not need any referrals to be seen by a speech language pathologist. Parents are the best person to judge their child’s speech and language skills as they spend the maximum time with their child. If you have any concerns with your child’s speech and language development or if your child’s teacher has raised any concern about his or her speech and language development, please do not hesitate to contact us.
